Dina has an interesting lineage, which was what initially drew me to the litter. Her father is Cariena`s Twentythree Eight and she was conceived via AI in Norway using frozen semen preserved from 1997. What particularly drew me to these lines was the proximity of Colin Well`s Woodland Whipper In, in the fourth generation and Woodland Woodcock in the fifth. Woodcock has many Field Trial Awarded ancestors, including Wood Poppy, Woodlark and Waterboy. Also represented are the Claverdon dogs belonging to Nancy Laughton, in particular Claverdon Gaff, Claverdon Rhapsody and Claverdon Turtledove, who was Field Trial Winner.
On her mother`s side, she is Almanza bred, her dam being Llantrussa Chiquitita, hergrandfather being “Almanza I Hate Mondays” (Hector) who spent six months in Wales with Dina`s breeder, and her grand dam being Almanza Crack The Bubbling.
What I was hoping for was a bitch with good working ability, plus the benefit of going back to the old lineage which would enable me to bring these lines to the breeding I hoped to do with Dina.
Dina excels in her intelligence and happiness in her work. I am very proud that in her first test ever, the Jugendprüfung with cold game (and also my first ever test), she qualified in second place with an excellent 252 points.
